Wasim Akram, a former captain of Pakistan, spoke out in favour of Babar Azam, urging Pakistani cricket fans to stand by him through his difficult period.
Wasim Akram stated during a media interview that Babar Azam would rank among the greatest captains within the next two to three years.
Wasim continued by saying he doesn’t understand why he is criticised and wanted to be replaced. He stated, “We don’t have Imran Khan and Javed Miandad to replace him.
It is important to note that the right-hander came under fire after the home team’s subpar red-ball performance.
Javed Miandad, a renowned batter, spoke out in favour of Babar last month, stating that he has been putting out exceptional individual performance.

Misbah ul Haq, a former captain, recently claimed that some individuals are trying to put excessive pressure on Babar, which shouldn’t be the case.
According to Misbah-ul-Haq, the recent press conference and the questions that were asked there show that he is under pressure.
When significant changes in PCB administration took place last month, it was anticipated that Babar Azam would no longer serve as the red-ball captain under the new system.
Babar Azam would continue to lead the national squad in all three formats, according to Najam Sethi, the newly appointed PCB Chief, who made the announcement a few days later.
