The rumoured contest between The Rock and Roman Reigns is unknown, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Even though there are backup plans for Cody Rhodes to take on Reigns in the event that Rock is unable to show up, things are still unclear.
”Regarding WrestleMania, Paul Levesque has made a decision on the Roman Reigns direction for WrestleMania in the event it is not Dwayne Johnson, which is a very real possibility. I don’t know that direction although Cody Rhodes would be the betting line favorite for those on the outside right now. So it’s not like there are multiple ideas for that match, only maybe two, Johnson and whoever the other plan would be with,” said Meltzer.

Although WWE hasn’t made any official statements about The Brahma Bull’s anticipated comeback, the rumour mill has established that it may be happening. Reigns and The Rock are cousins, and The Rock has said that he wants to collaborate with his younger cousin.
At WrestleMania 29, The Rock faced John Cena in his final significant match. At WrestleMania 32, he did engage in combat with Erock Rowan, but it was a squash match that was over in less a minute.
