Because of his status as the Honorary Uce of the Bloodline, Sami Zayn is swiftly rising to the top of the list of WWE superstars. A group of typically stoic heels benefit greatly from his comic relief, creating a very engaging dynamic for fans to get invested in.
Sami Zayn will be participating in a War Games cage match this weekend against the Brawling Brutes with the Bloodline. When the time comes, he will have to compete against Kevin Owens, his best friend and former tag team partner, which could create a conflict of interest.
Why The Honorary Uce Works So Well
Sami gave an explanation on WWE After the Bell of why he and the Bloodline make such a strong team. Fightful has made the transcription below available:
It’s about devotion, and it also highlights the differences between what the Usos and Roman were doing. They also had a whole year, or more like a year and a half, to really simmer and develop these characters. Because of this, I’ve had the last three to four years—possibly five years now that I’ve switched to playing the bad guy—and especially the last few years, to really let my character simmer, harden, and establish himself. These two acts are very clearly defined, and there is a dynamic between them that has been established is so fun and interesting. We’re all committed to it and we know who we are. I don’t know what it is, I think it’s a testament to what I created before I got into the Bloodline and what they created before they got to this point. Now, when you take these things that are established, two well-established and well-defined acts, mix them, and it doesn’t sound like it should mix on paper, but you see the execution, ‘oh this is so enjoyable,’ that makes it work.-Sami Zayn (via After the Bell)
