Pakistan’s Bumpy Road to the 2022 T20 World Cup Final (Winning Moments)

After defeating New Zealand in the opening semi-final of the tournament by a score of 7 wickets, Pakistan became the first side to advance to the 2022 T20 World Cup final.

The Men in Green were brilliant on the day, taking control of the game from the beginning when Shaheen Afridi dismissed Finn Allen with the third ball of the game.

The Green Shirts entered the T20 World Cup final for the third time overall and won their first match since 2009 without looking back.

Pakistan was less than convincing during their roller-coaster journey through the competition, despite a spectacular showing in the semi-final. With some combat demonstrations and a significant amount of luck, Pakistan made it past the Super 12s stage.

In order to go to their third T20 World Cup final, Pakistan needed to defeat an in-form New Zealand team. With momentum on their side, Pakistan easily defeated the Kiwis in a one-sided contest.

The Men in Green once again displayed great bowling as they held New Zealand to just 152/4 in their 20 overs. In their whole innings, the Kiwis only hit 10 fours and two sixes as Pakistani spinners tightened the screws.

The most successful T20 starting partnership in the world needed to deliver a huge performance for the big game. With seven wickets and five balls remaining, Babar and Rizwan, who had struggled throughout the tournament, performed outstanding knocks to aid their team in achieving the goal.

In the tournament’s finale, Pakistan will take against the winner of the second semi-final between England and India. On Thursday, November 10, England and India will square off at Adelaide Oval. The tournament’s championship game will take place at the MCG on Sunday, November 13.
