‘Pakistan will be out of international cricket if they refuse to play 2023 World Cup in India’

Following Jay Shah’s remarks regarding the 2023 Asia Cup and Team India’s participation, Pakistan has threatened to skip the fifty-over World Cup in India in 2023.

India won’t be visiting Pakistan, according to Shah, and the ACC will probably choose a different location for the competition.

A meeting should be called by the Asian Cricket Council to review the remarks made by the BCCI secretary and ACC president, the Ramiz Raja-led PCB said in a robust response.

Danish Kaneria, a former Pakistani spinner, has questioned PCB’s strategy in the meantime. If Pakistan declines to play in India, he believes they would be eliminated from international cricket.

“PCB should have waited because the Asian Cricket Council didn’t issue a statement. Even Jay Shah’s comments were made public by the media. He wasn’t the ACC president; he was speaking as the BCCI secretary, according to Kaneria.

“By publishing a statement, PCB has formalised its position, which may ultimately backfire. Pakistan won’t play in any further international cricket matches if they choose to boycott the World Cup in India, he continued.

On October 23, there will be a match between the two nations at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
