Pakistan Qualifies for Final of Tri-Nation Series in New Zealand

The tri-nation series final will feature Pakistan and New Zealand after the home team overcame Bangladesh by a score of 48 runs on Wednesday at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

The Shakib Al Hasan-led team had previously lost to Men in Green in the first game of the series and to the Black Caps in back-to-back contests. On Thursday, they will play their final game against Pakistan.

The Babar Azam-led team will now square off against the home team in the final slated for Friday, October 14 at Hagley Oval after their penultimate group stage match against Bangladesh tomorrow.

Notably, the three countries used the tri-nation series as a warm-up for the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, which gets underway on October 16 and features Sri Lanka playing Namibia in the first qualifying round.

The Men in Green enjoyed a good season in the shortest version of the game this year, making it all the way to the Asia Cup 2022 final, which just ended, and now earning a spot in the tri-series final in New Zealand.
