The TikTok username you choose when you first registered for the app is not required to be used going forward. There is a simple way to rename yourself on TikTok if you’re ready to do so.
Although it’s simple to change your TikTok username, you can only do it once every 30 days. Just make sure that whatever new name you choose, you can live with it for a month as your username is displayed on every video you upload.
You should be aware that changing your username will also affect your TikTok URL before making the change. So, in order to prevent people from clicking on a dead link, if you’ve put a link to your TikTok on other websites or social media platforms, you’ll need to change it there.
How to Change Your TikTok Username
- Open the TikTok app, log in if you haven’t already, and then input your account details.
- Tap Profile in the lower right corner.
- Choosing Edit Profile.
- click Username
- Enter your new username instead of your current one.
Click Save. You can opt out by closing the pop-up message informing you that you can change your username once every 30 days. Tap Set Username if you’re ready to move on.
On the Edit Profile page’s top, there will be a notice if the username you seek isn’t available. Until you find a username that works, try a few different ones.
