BTS shatter YouTube records and becoming most popular music group

The hugely successful South Korean boy band BTS has broken another another milestone after being recognised as the artist with the most views on YouTube.

Since their debut in 2013, BTS have dominated the music industry. With their rising fame, the seven comrades Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have broken multiple world records.

For instance, Jungkook won the prize for the TikTok hashtag with the most views after accruing 110 billion views. However, the group as a whole has even started a brand-new fad with their popular dance videos.

It’s not surprising that BTS has continued to smash records on the second-most-visited website in the world given their phenomenal success in the music industry.

BTS crowned YouTube’s most popular music group

On August 12, the music industry Twitter account “chart data” said that BTS had surpassed Justin Bieber to become YouTube’s most watched artist of all time, moving the “Ghost” singer into second position.

The trio has amassed 26.7 billion views across all of its YouTube channels, surpassing Bad Bunny (24.6 billion) and Ed Sheeran (26.1 billion), who are currently in third and fourth place, respectively.

A large part of the credit goes to BTS’ number-one music videos on the Google-owned site, the most watched of which are “Dynamite” with 1.5 billion views and “DNA” with 1.4 billion views.

The passionate fanbase of BTS naturally reacted with joy to the news. Many of their fans expressed their gratitude to the trio for helping to “pave the way” for the Korean music scene and new musicians.
